Hypertrophic pyloric stenosis

Description

This training provides healthcare professionals with a comprehensive review of Hypertrophic Pyloric Stenosis (HPS), the most common cause of intestinal obstruction in infancy. The session covers the epidemiology, genetic and environmental risk factors, clinical presentation, differential diagnosis, diagnostic findings, fluid and electrolyte management, preoperative stabilization, surgical treatment techniques (open and laparoscopic pyloromyotomy), management of intraoperative complications, and postoperative care. Emphasis is placed on the importance of correcting fluid and electrolyte abnormalities before surgery and managing postoperative challenges effectively.
