Description
The Emergency Care Course (TECC©) is designed to enable Nurses, Clinical Officers and Doctors working in the Emergency Department/Casualty/OPD to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to respond with confidence to emergency situations and to deliver safe, evidence-based quality emergency care in any setting.
Objectives
The Emergency Care Course (TECC) – Learning Objectives
By the end of the workshop, participants should be able to:
Demonstrate principles of management of the acutely ill and injured patient(s).
Apply a systematic approach to assessment of the acutely ill or injured patient.
Describe the requirements of ill or injured patients across the lifespan, including key differences in paediatric and obstetric care.
Demonstrate competence in skills supporting systematic patient assessment findings.
Demonstrate knowledge and skills in airway, breathing, circulation, and spinal immobilisation management.
Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) according to ILCOR guidelines.
